Department of Communication Skills and iSEP Cell, KSV, in collaboration with the SVKM hostels, began yet another year of hands-on English Communication sessions for the students of SVKM hostels at the Girls' Hostel & Boys' Hostel (Sector-23, Gandhinagar) and Kadi Girls Hostel on the 16th August 2026.
With a structured, dedicated syllabus and strong support of an international level training, this year, widening the scopes, the sessions covered three hostels at a time with the help of KSV volunteers group to make speaking English feel natural, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable.
Instead of traditional lectures, our hostellers jumped right into interactive activities that got everyone talking, laughing, and learning together:
● Storytelling & Values: We kicked off with "The Stone Soup Story," participating in thoughtful conversations around teamwork and sharing
● Games: Students became "Word Detectives"—picking up new words and putting them straight into practice.
● Word-Building Challenges: A fast-paced game using long words like HIPPOPOTAMUS had everyone thinking and having fun with spellings.
● Speaking Exercises & Sentence-Building: Through a lively "Pass-the-Ball" game and guided prompts, students practiced introducing themselves and speaking aloud in real time.
It was amazing to watch the room transform. Everyone participated with so much enthusiasm, and as a direct outcome, the students became far more comfortable speaking up, expanded their vocabulary, and walked away with a noticeable boost in their overall fluency and confidence.
