In the series of Spoken English sessions at SVKM Hostels, we had another session at the Boys' hostel, SVKM at Sector 23, on 28th September 2025. The session started with a short prayer to help us focus and get ready for the day. A fun revision activity on nouns helped the students remember what they learned before at the beginning of the day. Revision was soon followed by acting out a story called The Bear and the Bees. Some students became the bees and did the buzzing. It was really fun to watch and even more fun to be a part of! Further to this, Pass the Clap introduced students to the common nouns in a fun way, and an extension to this game was provided in the form of the City Bingo game, for introducing proper nouns. Thus without labeling the grammar chunks, through games, the concepts were introduced and practiced. At the end, some storybooks were distributed in small groups. Stepping into Reading from Listening was a bit difficult at first, but with the help of the peer group as well as volunteer teachers, the students ended up enjoying it a lot. The session ended with another short prayer.
