Program Overview
Students will enter the US with a J-1 visa to take one university course of 3 credits in 15 sessions at the University campus. After successful completion of the program, participants will be eligible to receive an official SF State University Certificate and transcript. Can also transfer the credits back home or to other universities around the world. Students will spend their stay immersed in the culture of one of the most diverse and vibrant cities in the world. Enjoy everything San Francisco and the Bay Area have to offer, through Hop-on Hop- Off Bus Tours field trips, social activities, and visits to famous neighborhoods, museums, the birthplace of Silicon Valley, and more
Program Objective & Admission
Customized Summer Program in San Francisco (with credits) has been designed at the request of US Work Study Pvt. Ltd. for the Global Empowerment of Indian University Students, which is DiR's official partner for the said program. The tentative Schedule is given below (the actual schedule/programming will be amended as needed by SFSU). Prof. Sunil Garg, President of US Work Study Pvt. Ltd. (USWS) has been authorized to promote, register, and facilitate admissions, submit visa (J-1) applications, appointments, and counseling for interviews by the US Embassy, flight tickets, monitor of schedule dates in India and arrival in San Francisco on 6th July 2024(Dates are tentative)
DS 312 Data Analysis with Computer Applications (Units: 3)
(Prerequisite: Business Statistics I or MATH 124 Elementary Statistics, English Language Proficiency equivalence to IELTS 6.5)
Course Highlight: This course focuses on the interpretation and presentation of data within a business context, utilizing statistical software packages. Topics covered include multiple regression, sampling techniques, survey design and analysis, analysis of variance, experimental design, and contingency tables. The content is particularly beneficial for MBA and BBA students, enhancing their prospects for higher placement opportunities. Additionally, students from engineering and other disciplines are encouraged to participate, thereby enhancing their Data Science and Analytical skills, which are essential for various professionals.
Eligibility: 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year of Management or Engineering (MBA, BBA, B.Tech., BCA or MCA) students can apply.

CSC 665/865 Artificial Intelligence (Units: 3)

Course Highlight:This course provides a comprehensive overview of algorithms and approaches within the realm of artificial intelligence. Students delve into fundamental concepts crucial for achieving human-level intelligence in computer systems and gain practical experience through assignments and programming exercises. Topics covered include problem-solving methods, heuristic search, game playing, agent architectures, machine learning, and a selection of topics from knowledge representation, symbolic reasoning, computational models of virtual humans, neural networks, and genetic algorithms.
Eligibility: 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year students of B.Tech., MCA, BCA or M.Tech. can apply.

Program Fees

The total fee students will pay to SF State:
$4,004 (including Academic program fee, housing fee, and two meals per day during program dates and University Health Insurance (mandatory), SFSU portal access)

- Housing(Double/triple occupancy housing) with meals, Three-credit SF State course classes, Welcome orientation, Bay Cruise activities, San Francisco City Municipal Public transportation pass, and Silicon Valley study trips.
- i-Learn class shell for asynchronous learning. Presentations, session recordings, and additional resources.
- Certificate of Completion with SF State official transcript for students who have completed either DS 312 Data Analysis with Computer Applications or Artificial Intelligence (Units: 3, Sessions: 15)
- Membership of Mashouf Wellness Center: State-of-the-art facility with pool, jacuzzi, climbing wall, indoor track, exercise classes etc. camping and hiking.

Kindly Note: Students will get to know the actual cost of the entire program in May - June 2024 as ticket prices will be higher by the time students procure VISAs.
Program Fee Break-up
The breakup of Total Expenses incurred by students in the July 2024 Summer Program of 25 days stays in San Francisco. (Fee computation wherever applicable is @ ₹ 85 per US$ it may vary based on the Rupees and US$ Conversion rate at the time of payment).
- Registration Fee: NO REFUND
- Selected students have to deposit a cheque of ₹ 50,000in favour of the "Department of International Relations by SVKM" as a part of the registration amount that shall cover participation confirmation, visa filing guidance, and interview preparation.
- VISA Fee Payable by students to US Consulate Portal: NO REFUND
- US VISA Processing and Appointment fee to US Consulate: US$ 160 (₹ 13,600)
- US Embassy J-1 SEVIS fee to US Embassy: US$ 220 (₹ 18,700)
- Program Fee payable to San Francisco State University (SFSU): REFUNDABLE
US$ 4,004 (₹ 3, 40, 340) Student shall deposit the US$ 4,004 equivalent at bank conversion rate INR amount to "Department of International Relations by SVKM" at the time of VISA dates or latest by February 2024). Program Fee for each participants includes :

- SFSU GeoBlue Health Insurance (Mandatory for all paid directly to Insurance provider): US$204
- Housing with two meals/day (Breakfast and Dinner included for 25 nights): around US$1,200.
- Other Registration Fees payable to the SFSU Portal Access: around US$ 100 (NOTE: Paid via individual credit card- "Department of International Relations by SVKM" cannot process due to restriction of the SFSU University mandate)
- Traveling costs and other expenses for US Visa Granted Students: The Visa Granted students have to deposit a cheque in favour of the "Department of International Relations by SVKM" as a part of the Travelling that shall cover the following:
