Quality Education for all
A student enrolls in any academic institution primarily for the quality of education provided at that institution. It is without a doubt that extra-curricular activities, such as sports, dance, art, and interschool and intraschool competitions play a major role in the holistic development of the student, but a school aspires to first and foremost deliver high-quality education. This implies that leaders in education, like the Board of Directors, Principals and Department Heads must consistently work towards improving their teaching practices. When we consciously observe our teachers and their methodologies, we can then assess them and devise better strategies; this process from the leaders enables the institution to provide the best pedagogy and learning experience for each of its students.
Teaching is a dynamic profession, where constant upgradation is required
One certain way to improve teaching practices is by implementing regular classroom audits. Not only does this allow supervisors to gain insight into what really happens in the classroom, but it also aids in improving lesson plans and understanding where extra teaching support or scaffolding may be required. It also helps the teachers receive constructive feedback for their classroom practices and ensures that they come more prepared, participate in more advanced self-development and give their absolute best to their student lesson after lesson. Teaching is a dynamic profession, where constant upgradation is required. This constant upgradation can be achieved through regular training and professional development sessions organized by the management for the teachers. These sessions help introduce new teaching methodologies and provide more insight into child psychology. It equips the teachers with the skills needed to match the new technology available and any changes in the national curricula or education policies. It also builds better community dynamics within the teacher teams and helps enhance productivity.
Create positive working environment
Most importantly, team leaders and school heads must work towards creating a positive and nurturing working environment for their teachers. When teachers are valued, appreciated and respected, they are happier and take that positivity into their classrooms as well. This encourages their students to also feel valued, appreciated and loved. Schools, colleges and all academic institutions should be places where both children and teachers can grow in multifold ways, and come back every day with curiosity and joy for learning.
Technology, when used consciously and meaningfully, can be an incredible teaching aid in the 21st-century classroom. From educational software, online teaching resources, artificial intelligence, audio-video presentations, and efficient grading and assessment software, teaching and learning can be enhanced in multidimensional ways through the use of technology.
