Student Development Program: Career Advancement: 2026
The Department of Communication Skills and iSEP Cell, Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya (KSV), in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), successfully concluded the three-day Student Development Program on Career Advancement organized for the final-year B.Com. students of Ashvinbhai A. Patel Commerce College, Gandhinagar, on 10th September 2026 at Brahmani Krupa Hall, Sector-23, Gandhinagar.
Preceded by an engaging and energizing session on Presentation Skills & AI Communication on September 9, 2026, conducted by Mr. Manish Khanolkar, AMA, the programme, on its concluding day on the 10th September, focused on Public Speaking & Personality Development.
The final day session was conducted by Ms. Poonam Modi, AMA, and focused on:
• Self-Awareness & Confidence
• Voice & Vocal Delivery
• Body Language & Presence
• Reaction vs. Response
• Effective Communication
Through interactive discussions and engaging task series, students explored self-awareness, emotional and social intelligence, effective communication, confident public speaking, voice and vocal delivery, body language, and professional presence.
The three-day programme covered General Business Communication & Crisis Communication, Presentation Skills & AI Communication, and Public Speaking & Personality Development, providing students with a holistic platform to strengthen communication, presentation, confidence, professional presence, and workplace readiness.

Patel Commerce College, Gandhinagar, on the 8th September 2026 at Brahmani Krupa Hall, S3ctor-23,
The opening session, “General Business Communication & Crisis Communication,” was conducted by Mr. Deepak Pandya, AMA, and focused on:

The session successfully connected classroom learning with real-world workplace expectations, reinforcing that communication is not merely a language skill—it is a core professional competency.

Continuing its commitment to strengthening the wellbeing of educators, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Department, SVKM, conducted a series of Teachers' Wellbeing sessions across various institutes in August 2026.
The sessions were conducted at CM Patel Physiotherapy College on 12th August, B. P. College of Business Administration and S. K. Patel Institute of Management and Computer Studies on 14th August, Vidush Somany Institute of Technology & Research on 22nd August, and LDRP Institute of Technology & Research on 29th August 2026.
The sessions provided educators with an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own emotional wellbeing. Through interactive discussions and reflective activities, participants explored the importance of managing stress, building emotional resilience, maintaining healthy boundaries, and nurturing a positive mindset in their professional lives.
The initiative highlighted an essential aspect of education: caring for those who care for others. By supporting the wellbeing of educators, we take an important step towards creating healthier, more compassionate, and more meaningful learning environments.

Mental wellbeing begins with awareness, and awareness begins with accessibility.
Taking a significant step towards promoting mental health among students and faculty members, the Mental Health & Well-Being Department, SVKM, in collaboration with Solh Wellness, successfully installed Stress Detection Kiosks across five constituent institutions of the University:
• Vidush Somany Institute of Technology & Research (VSITR), Kadli
• S.K. Patel Institute of Management and Computer Studies (MBA), Gandhinagar
• K.B. Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Gandhinagar
• Chanchalben Mafatlal Patel College of Nursing, Gandhinagar
• LDRP Institute of Technology and Research, Gandhinagar
Installation was paralleled by two comprehensive and interactive orientation sessions for the same.
The initiative aims to make mental health screening more accessible and encourage individuals to proactively monitor their emotional wellbeing. The kiosks will enable students and faculty members to assess their stress levels, gain valuable insights into their mental health, and access appropriate support whenever required.
This initiative reflects SVKM's continued commitment to fostering a supportive, empathetic, and mentally healthy educational environment where wellbeing remains an integral part of academic success and personal growth.

Department of Communication Skills and iSEP Cell, KSV, in collaboration with the SVKM hostels, began yet another year of hands-on English Communication sessions for the students of SVKM hostels at the Girls' Hostel & Boys' Hostel (Sector-23, Gandhinagar) and Kadi Girls Hostel on the 16th August 2026.
With a structured, dedicated syllabus and strong support of an international level training, this year, widening the scopes, the sessions covered three hostels at a time with the help of KSV volunteers group to make speaking English feel natural, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable.
Instead of traditional lectures, our hostellers jumped right into interactive activities that got everyone talking, laughing, and learning together:
● Storytelling & Values: We kicked off with "The Stone Soup Story," participating in thoughtful conversations around teamwork and sharing
● Games: Students became "Word Detectives"—picking up new words and putting them straight into practice.
● Word-Building Challenges: A fast-paced game using long words like HIPPOPOTAMUS had everyone thinking and having fun with spellings.
● Speaking Exercises & Sentence-Building: Through a lively "Pass-the-Ball" game and guided prompts, students practiced introducing themselves and speaking aloud in real time.
It was amazing to watch the room transform. Everyone participated with so much enthusiasm, and as a direct outcome, the students became far more comfortable speaking up, expanded their vocabulary, and walked away with a noticeable boost in their overall fluency and confidence.

Department of International Relations, SVKM organized a focused masterclass in collaboration with IDP Education and Douglas College International on “Applied Learning and Career Pathways: From Discipline to Direction” on 12th August 2026.
The session was designed for students from B.Tech., B.Sc., and BBA stream, with a focus on connecting their current academic disciplines with higher education, applied learning, and future career opportunities.
Ms. Emily Birkett, Manager – International Marketing & Recruitment, Douglas College International, led the masterclass and shared practical insights on programme selection, admission requirements, student life in Canada, applied learning, and future career pathways. The interactive session also included a Q&A, allowing students to clarify their queries and gain guidance for making informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
The event concluded with an interaction between the speaker and faculty members providing an opportunity for further academic engagement and collaboration.

At the Department of Communication Skills and iSEP Cell, KSV, we were honored to host an expert session on "Implementing Functional Approach to English Language Teaching" on the 5th of August 2026 at the Departmental office. The session featured the esteemed ELT expert, Dr. Sulabha Natraj, Former Principal, Way Made College of Education, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
Designed for our faculty members, the session focused on moving away from traditional grammar-translation methods towards a dynamic, functional, communicative framework in higher education.
The Key highlights included: 1.Bridging the gap between structural grammar rules and contextual, real-world language functions.
2. Implementing task-based learning and creating functional learning materials to foster active classroom engagement.
3. Evaluating student performance based on communicative fluency, meaning-making, and self-monitoring techniques.
